Vehicle Wraps — FAQs

It depends on your vehicle size, how much of it gets wrapped, and the film you choose — a small partial wrap and a full commercial van wrap are completely different jobs. Labour is the biggest cost driver: larger vehicles, complex curves, and trim removal all add time. One rule worth knowing: a suspiciously cheap quote (like a $1,200 "full wrap") usually means knockoff vinyl and rushed prep that peels or damages paint within months. For an exact number on your vehicle, call us at (416) 694-1996 — we'll quote from your vehicle type and design, not a guess.

A quality cast vinyl wrap lasts 5 to 7 years in Ontario with decent care, and garage-kept vehicles commonly go beyond that. Our Toronto winters are the enemy — road salt, freeze-thaw, and grit wear film down fast, and hoods and roofs (flat, sun-facing) fade first. Regular hand washing, rinsing salt off quickly, and parking out of direct sun make the real difference.

No — on factory OEM paint, a professionally installed wrap actually protects it from UV, scratches, and stone chips, and comes off cleanly with heat when done by an installer. Damage happens in two cases: the vinyl was applied over cheap or failing resprayed paint, or it was left on way too long / ripped off improperly. That's why removal is worth doing at the shop, not with a hair dryer on a Sunday.

Usually yes — wraps are one of the best moves for a leased work van or truck, because the film protects the paint and peels off at lease end, saving you excess-wear charges on dings and paint blemishes. But check the lease first: some agreements restrict modifications or graphics, so get any ambiguity clarified with the leasing company in writing and photograph the vehicle before the install.

The actual install is 1–3 days depending on vehicle size and design complexity — a car is usually one to two days, a Sprinter-type van longer. The full process from first call to delivery is typically 1–2 weeks, because design back-and-forth and printing take most of the calendar time. Good shops pre-print your graphics before your install date so the vehicle isn't sitting off the road longer than it has to.

For a quality job, a wrap is generally cheaper than a quality paint job and reversible — you get the colour or branding you want now and can peel it off later to reveal untouched factory paint. Repainting wins when the finish is already failing: peeling clear coat, rust, or widespread damage need proper refinishing first, because wrap won't hide that. For a business vehicle, the wrap does double duty as advertising, which paint never does.

Hand wash is best — automatic brush washes lift seams and edges over time, and most shops' warranties void if you use them. Keep pressure washers at least 12 inches away with a wide (40°) nozzle, never aim at an edge, and stay under about 1,200 PSI. In Toronto winter, rinse road salt off often — salt sitting on the film is one of the fastest ways to kill a wrap early.

Yes to both. A partial wrap — doors, sides, or rear — is the go-to for small-business branding, and it keeps costs well below a full wrap while still looking professional. If one panel gets torn or vandalized, shops can reprint and replace just that panel, though expect a slight colour difference versus sun-weathered panels. Bring it by 4 Carlaw Ave, Unit 2 in Toronto and we'll tell you straight whether a repair or rewrap makes more sense.
